Title for Your Resume
Title your resume. This title will appear in Employer search
results and should be short but descriptive, i.e.
NYC Account Manager, or SystemsAdminSF. Use this title
to keep track of multiple Resumes, e.g. CPABoston, CPAPhilly,
and etc. if you are seeking employment in several cities or if you have
resumes targeted to different positions or industries.
Employment Type
HIRE:
A person who is hired by another person or business for a wage or
fixed payment in exchange for personal services and who does not
provide the services as part of an independent business; any
individual employed by an employer whether exempt or non-exempt.
Exempt Employees - Workers not entitled to overtime, generally workers
in executive, administrative or professional positions. Non-Exempt
Employees - Workers who are entitled to overtime pay after working
more than forty hours in a five day work week.
CONTRACTOR:
A person or business who performs services for another person under
an express or implied agreement and who is not subject to the other’s
control, or right to control, the manner and means of performing the
services; not as an employee. One who engages an independent contractor
is not liable to others for the acts or omissions of the independent
contractor. Contractors are usually not eligible for any kind of
benefits, including insurance, pensions, paid holidays, etc.
PART-TIME:
An employee who is employed for an average of fewer than 32 hours
per week or who will be/has been employed for fewer than 6 months
of any given 12 month period.
Location
Select the city or cities you are seeking employment in; block
up to five (5) cities by using Control + click on a PC and
Alt + click on a MAC. Keep in mind that some companies offer
relocation packages but many do not.
Education
Select the highest level of education you have completed. If you
are attempting to change careers or industries, you might want to
exclude higher degrees which might make you appear over-qualified.
Avoid selecting Not Applicable unless your education does not
match one of the options in the list, or unless the education you
have received is truly irrelevant to your desired position.
Selecting this option will not affect MatchMaker search results.
Salary Range
You may block up to five (5) salary ranges by using Control
+ click on a PC and Alt + click on a MAC.
Select Negotiable in addition to your desired salary range
if you desire, or by itself if you are seeking a contract position.
Selecting this option will not affect search results, but it will
show up in your resume for employers to view.
Select Commission or Base + Commission as
applicable in addition to your desired range if you are seeking a
commissioned position. If you select these options, we recommend
that any specified salary ranges reflect the total compensation
desired.
Industry
You may block up to five (5) industries by using Control
+ click on a PC and Alt + click on a MAC if you have
industry-specific experience. Leave blank if your skill set is
non-industry specific or for the greatest number of results in a
MatchMaker® search.
My Resume
Enter your detailed resume information here. Keep in mind that
special formatting you may have used in many desktop applications
will often not appear on our system the same way it does on your
computer. If you have a resume with this kind of formatting, for
best results you should create a simple format for your resume
(in plain text with bullets) and then paste it into the document.
To cut and paste, use the following steps:
- Go into the program you use for editing (e.g. Microsoft Word )
- Find and Open your resume file
- Highlight the text of your resume you´d like to paste into
your ProGayJobs resume file.
- Hold the Ctrl key down while simultaneously pressing
the C key.
- Go back to the ProGayJobs My Resume window, place your
cursor in the My Resume section, and hold the Ctrl key
down while simultaneously pressing the V key. You will
see the highlighted text from your editing program appear in the
My Resume section.
Preview
Use this button to see what your resume will look like once you have
saved it to the database. We strongly encourage you to use this
feature as many times as you need until you are certain your resume
appears exactly as you want it. This will reduce the likelihood
that mistakes are seen by prospective employers.
Save & Store
Use this button to save the resume to our database and access
it at a later date. Stored resumes are only viewable by you until they
are Posted. Your resume will not be matched to open positions, and it
will not expire while it is stored. If you have already posted a resume,
make changes later, and then click this button, the resume will be
de-activated from the system and will not be viewable by employers.
Save & Post
Use this button to post your resume to our system. Take care to ensure
your resume is complete, accurate, and error-free before you post it.
Make liberal use of the Preview button to check the formatting, and
proofread it at least once before you post. Use the Save & Store
button to store your resume for later review if you don´t have
time to do everything in one session. Once you post your resume, it
will be viewable by employers and may be matched to open positions.

On this page you will find summary information for each of the
resumes you have entered to date.

by other users.
# of Hits: This field indicates the number of times your resume
has been viewed by an employer on our system.
Expiration Date: ProGayJobs policy is to expire resumes
six (6) months after they have been posted to the system, as it
is highly unlikely an individual´s information is still accurate
after this time. To keep your resume from expiring, you only need
to make a single change to your resume document and post it once
more. You will set the Posted Date refresh to the current date,
